Its very easy to focus on silicon valley and the hyperscalers when thinking about data entre capex and buildout .
However ,there are real world winners too .
For example Finnish engine and turbine maker Wartsila WRT1V the stock is up 9.26% today on deal to supply 27 engines to a US datacentre.

Looking at Nasdaq 100 CFDs today its pretty clear where the resistance has been in the morning session. Nvidia earnings last night may have provided the markets with a tonic, but that will only matter, if the wider market can build on that, make gains and hold on to them into the US close.

  I’m probably more likely to buy puts rather than calls at those levels… short to medium term anyway.

    I will remain sceptical until the price action shows me otherwise as to options I am told that the recent up tick in volatility has made short term/ ODTE options too dear for many to sensibly trade.

When it comes to the FTSE 100 Index will it, or won’t it reach 10,000? Is the question on most investors’ minds.

As I type we are some 450 points or approximately -5.0% beneath that round number.

BoE to cut rates as inflation drops. Will this boost FTSE 100?

UK inflation readings today show October CPI dropped to 3.6 percent. (CPIH was 3.8%)

This figure, whilst still above the central bank’s 2 percent target, may bring a dose of relief to the Treasury. Chances of a rate cut next month are now quite likely.

For all practical purposes, Lloyds’ share price has “reached” £1 this year.

it was very noticeable today that US stocks that were higher in the pre market session ,and which might have been expected to have added to their gains in regular trading, didn’t .

Memory names in the US are running again with SNDK US STX US MU US and WDC US all up sharply today. The later has posted a new all time high as well.

Palantir Technology PLTR US behaved very well in the run up to earnings yesterday, putting on +20.0% since October 22nd.

PLTR reported after the close last night, beat estimates, and raised its guidance for the FY 2025.
